~~Somewhere Deep in the Arctic Circle~~
Dr. Krovanskee and his team had nearly found the new enrgy source they were looking for. On the would hopefully stop the continued use of fossil fuels. Of course there had been a few... Complications. Such as several members of his research team having gained strange abilities. And they fact that their minds had been... Corrupt. It seemed their only goal in life was to destroy all life they saw, and managed in killing several of the uncorrupt members. The doctor finally came to the opcnclusion that the new energy source they'd found, which he called Invaliuom, had been the thing to corrupt them. Even with this discovery the Doctor seemed determined to go on with the project.
~~Two years later~~
Invaliuom had made all other energy sources compeltly obsolete. However... continued exposure to it caused people to act... Strangly. There was no known cure. Eventually, the problem got so out of hand that the military stepped in. They had declared war against the 'mutants'. To do this, they had to use the invaliuom. They harnessed its powers and used it to give the soldiers powers.
When this war ended, a new age would begin.
A terrible age.
