Thirty years ago, the world fell into chaos. In the United States, a small group of terrorists created a virus that would allow people to live on after death, unfortunatly, it also destroyed all sense of reason that they had, and caused them to attack the living. They began spreading the virus through various water sources, it was entirely undetectable until death. However, these undead didn't care much about who they killed, and withen only three monthes after the crisis had started, the group was wiped out, withen a year the virus had spread to other countries. Withen two years, the world was nearly destroyed.
A group of scientists began working on a cure to reverse the effects of the virus without killing the subject, while another group of soldiers supplied with military equipment started the complete ahnilation of the zombies. They were called the ZPCI(Zombie Pest Control Inc.). In order to be named the ONLY saviours of Earth, they began to sabotage the scientists attempt to make a cure. Before to long, the scientists had given up, not wanting to be suject of the ZPCI's wrath.
It took a very long time, and when it was over the world was in a horrible state, but the ZPCI had finally destroyed the zombies. But this meant that there would no longer be a reason for them to exist.
An high ranking member of the ZPCI, Captain Hunt, was unwilling to let the ZPCI fade to nothing, using the left of technology from the scientists, he designed a new virus, and convinced several corrupt government officals to help him build an army of robot known as Wryms to infect large groups of people by setting of a form of EMP blast, infecting everyone withen the area.
However, the virus was not perfect, and still retained some efects of the cure. Later on, the ZPCI fixed this, but the first few attempts were less than perfect, allowing some of the undead to retain thier minds, along with new found strength and certain powers.
The remaining scientists saw what the ZPCI were doing, and formed a Resistance against them, their Ace in the Hole? The fact that many of the new super zombies were willing to hrelp them. One of these zombies was enough to take down a small army.
Now, in the year 2044, it is an all out war between the Resistance and the ZPCI, all across the world. Now, only a shadow of hope remains....
