At the sound of a braking branch I turn my head, scanning everything behind me. The only part of my that moved was my head and eyes, not including my breathing. After about a half a minute, or posablely a minute I face the ocean again. It was fairly late and the possibility that the sound came from a nocturnal animal was very high.
