He turned to the rest of his squad. "The rest of you, proceed with purification, once we have confirmed all children and parents have escaped."
"What about the soldiers si-"
"You know why, now go!" He said, swinging his arm to the right, pointing towards the burning homes, with the monster army out of sight.
"Makes me wonder why I bother with some of them...Let's get going."
As soon as all of you had looked away, the sounds of crows appeared, heading towards the burning homes, and the men were completely gone, almost instantly.

I nodded slowly taking in what they all had said. He could be working for them secretly but why? They came in and protected us, killing those other monsters. And since when would a monster make an alliance with a human? Even if this man and the others were working for the monsters we'd already be dead. Unless we had a special purpose. But I couldn't see that I had anything in common with these people, and I was no one special. But then again I didn't really know any of them at all, maybe just seen them around the village or when they came in to buy medicine at the Apothecary.
These people were not to trust but there was no point in sitting here waiting to get slaughtered either. "People are dying out there. And if we just sit here were going to end up face down in the mud as well." I told the girl. "Now lets go."
