Hello there once again lovely people of RPF! It's time for the fourth weekly update now.

 

Next Friday, the tenth, will be the feburary weekly update! Look at th new post below this for the times and to post if you'll be able to come or not.

 

As well, all the updates to the blog are finished, or at least I hope they are. And speaking of the blog, I've posted a new blog post in the suggestions category, should Stories be allowed to be featured?

 

And it seems that the winner for this week's poll, "What do you Think of Cows?", is "GIMME STEAK NOW!". The next poll should go up right after this.

Hey there! It's time for weekly update number three, so let's get on with it, shall we?

 

First of all, January 21st was the weekly update incase any of you didn't notice, and there have been a few updates.

 

First of all, there was the addition of the Stories section, ocated at the bottom of the forums.

 

As well, we've added a likes system, in which when you like the main page of a thread and put the name of the RP in the description of a like, and when the RP gets five likes, it's stickied. When it gets 10 likes, it's added to the featured RPs page.

 

And there was a small change, themed RPs is now Fan-fiction RPs.

 

And one more thing before we end this weekly update, the blog and contests page have been updated, giving the blog three different general categories that anyone can post of, and each admin has their own blog as well. As for the con ... Read more »

I'd like to explain a bit how these two things work. We've had the Summaries for a while now, but we've only had two of them. This is because most people don't know how to put them in, that's because I'll put them in. If you want to create a summary for your RP, then write it in a PM and send it to me, and I'll make the page.

 

As for likes, be aware that when you make a like you have to put the name of the RP in the description, becasue giving likes gives that person an award, the name of the RP needs to be in the description so that the RP maker knows which of their RPs is being liked.

Basically, we talked about suggestions. So, there's gonna be a 'Story' section where we can write our own mini 'books' and stuff, and update chapters, have our own characters, etc. You can add Fan fictions, fantasy, adventure, but nothing with TO much romance... You know what I mean. There are children here.

Also, we've made it so when a thread gets 5 likes on the very first comment, it becomes a sticky thread.

Then if it recieves 10 likes on the first comment, it becomes a featured thread.

Also, Zyphon is going to organize the Featured RP page.

Okay, first of all, from last weeks poll the answer "I Think Grilled Penguin Would Taste Good!" has the highest votes. I've decided that if there's no need for any real polls, then I'll keep doing these weekly polls things.

Also, I plan to update the Blog, Contest page, and Featured Page.

 

As well, we need more people to make contests, since most of the months still have nobody to make contests for them.

 

As a reminder, the meeting is tonight. Altough, I only know that it's 8:00 for EST, I don't know the other times. ._.

The United States Congress is proposing two laws that address the problem of wide-scale unlicensed distribution on the Internet of motion pictures, songs, trademarked goods, and patented pharmaceuticals.
1. One of the proposals is called SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and would direct search engines in the United States to block Internet sites outside the United States that are primarily engaged in distributing unlicensed content.

2. Another proposal called PIPA (Protect IP Act) would block websites located in the United States as well.

The Obama administration is putting a stop to these proposals. It wants the Internet companies and the content companies to get together and come up with more functional and less destructive solutions.

This site needs some volunteers for the empty spaces for Contests. Click the 'Contests' tab to the left and see the avavilable spaces. Really anyone can apply and create a contest. There needs to be a theme, rules, etc. Just leave it up to the contestants to make a thread for it! Then the contest creator decides the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
