| 2053.
Finally, after thousands of years of war, Humanity has gained peace with each other. No nation wages war anymore, all is tranquil. Technology has been advancing, and yet even though there is peace, people still create new weapons just in case the worse happens. They are advanced, not so much, but much better than the guns of earlier wars...
...Yet war never leaves...
They never expected what happened, to happen. Early in 2052, scientists discovered an asteroid far off radiating very high levels of radiation, and it's current path suggested it would impact Earth. They didn't think much of it, after all, it wasn't large enough to cause major damage. It impacted a year later, landing in the middle of a small town in Africa. Scientists flew there to research it, but mysteriously found the town deserted... While digging through the meteor, some said in the night they could hear odd noises, nothing that sounded like it was from Earth. They eventually uncovered something of the meteor... A small lifeform. Finally, other life in the Universe! But, it latched onto one of the scientists, and turned him into... Something. It ran off, into the jungle. After this, though somewhat reluctantly, they sped up the investigation of the meteor. What they found was that it was a transmitter for some Extraterrestrial race... And the specimen with it was something the transmitter simply picked up on the way to Earth...
2054
Sightings of freakish animal and human mutated creatures have been reported throughout all of Africa, yet no one could find them. Just small glimpses in the distance, shadows in the night...
2055
A very large amount of ships came to Earth. An alien race, actually visiting. Of course, since for so long now, Humanity has been in peace, they never expected what happened to happen. A small party went to greet them with open arms... But they were slaughtered by the aliens. An all out war broke out, the entire planet of Earth against this mysterious race...
...Then something else happened. The mutated creatures that had first appeared in the meteor began showing up everywhere. They were even developing intelligence, the species that infected the scientist would suddenly come in mass numbers, combine with each other to make mutants without attacking other lifeforms... or even latching on and taking down humans and the aliens alike to form mutants. They show strong intelligence, understanding how to wield weapons and form together in groups to attack. Though they still show primal instincts, dropping weapons to lunge at an enemy occasionally.
All seemed lost. Humanity and the aliens fought against each other, while the mysterious infecting race attacked both. Occasionally, small groups of humans and aliens would form to take down the infections, but rarely...
It was truely the dusk of Humanity.
