| I just continued walking towards the door, trying to act confident in the face on my most likely death. I made no eye contact with it, nor did I even slightly turn my head. Showing reaction shows fear. Fear shows weakness. And showing weakness can lead to death.

It's head turns watching (Equinox), hissing loudly. It walks a little bit his way, flames growing. I tap my foot he turns to be quickly, head extended as I hiss back at him. This did exactly what I wanted from him, confusion. Ruffling his feathers to look better I keeped steady eye contact, it was clear he was about to snap back at me, but he was trying to figure me out first.

I look to the door, it had a lock like in the other entrance. Although it was slitly different, I had a hunch on how to open it, and we needed the bird... Alive.

The temperature jumped easily 20 more degrees, could we survive this, yes. The problem was it wouldn't be long until we passed out, then died. I had looked to the lock earlier, when we first opened the door, it was strange but it seemed as if I needed the biggest blast of fire door the tiny hole in the handle of the steel door. The bird now, practically screaming in hisses took anouther snap at me, this was a direct hit to my left arm and I let it bit. The pain was worse then a 3degree burn on a sunburn, or so I thought but I fight it out and use all my energy to do the best I could. I was quick to pull up my right arm and use my thumb pressing it in the middle of its black as coal eye.
This did exactly as in my head, more or less, the bird ruffled its feathers and backed up from use gave one last hiss and layed back down. He had seen that I was the higher or equal power as him. I most serenely was not, but also long as he was no longer territorial we were good. He stared at me a moment longer and for a second it felt as time stood still in fact I'm sure it did.
"I'm afraid that the quest you hat you pursue is bound for failure, but you have proved that even an underdog can find there equal." I wasn't sure where the voice was coming from, but it had to be the bird. I sigh and looked around the room, as time seemed to finnaly unfold.
The pain my my left arm was to great to ignor and I fell the no knees as time seemed to finally return.
