As soon as I knew it my attempt to penetrate the monsters flesh was a failure. It picked me up by the arm as if I were an unwanted doll and threw to the ground. I hit something hard, either the ground or the boy but it left me unable to breathe and motionless on the ground. I thought of my mom and Dale. Maybe it was best if they were dead, soon at least I'd join them.

I charged at him straight forwards at the monster. I knew he could simply knock me down with almost no effort on his part, but I hoped that I would be fast enough to dodge his first attack, and that I'd at least get a second or two to make an attack of my own.

| He stomped the ground, a large bump of stones and dirt rose up in front of you, tripping you.

He simply started walking off. It was evident that killing him was not a possibility, yet.

I looked up...watching the monster leave. Like nothing had happened. I was at a loss for words. I tried getting up again. Slowly, gritting my teeth in pain as there was blood on my face, and cuts all over my body from falling. I was shaky. Very shaky as I tried getting up. I was on one knee now. Heaving myself onto both my feet. Coughing. I leaned again a broken wall of a building. "Ugh...Is...everyone, alright?" I coughed at the end of sentence lightly. Looking at the other couple teens and the weary adults that were also in the town. (Or city or whatever lol)

I clenched my teeth in fury as the monster was walking away What's with the bow? Too scared to fight up close? the monsters words swirled in my head. I picked up a rock and threw it angrily into the distance. Then I walked back to the others to see how they were doing. "Ugh...Is...everyone, alright?" I heard the boy who got injured before ask, "Just peachy." I growl walking past then pacing back and forth a little away from the others.
It's funny until someone gets hurt. Then it's just hilarious.

I blinked looking around and watched the monster walk off away from the group. Each of us were all still in one piece at least, but from what I could tell also bashed up a little. "Um..sure." I mumbled answering his question. I stood and wiped of my clothes now covered in dust and ash but it made worse so I stopped. "I just.." I sighed. "I just can't believe he didn't....kill us."

I nodded but the army was gone, still undefeated and powerful. Bleakness and a melancholy feeling hung in the air, weighing down on my shoulders. "It didn't kill us but what about the families." I stared blankly at the ruins of the once old and peaceful town. I put my knives back into their holds on my hips and started taking small quiet steps towards the town.
